Buying A Gun Online

This section clarifies a few details and helps to define the process of purchasing a firearm online from Williams Gun Sight Company (WGS) so you know what to expect when buy your next firearm. No matter where you live within the United States, we are required to ship your firearm to a Federal Firearm Licensed Dealer (FFL Dealer). Don’t forget to check all local and state laws prior to placing any order. You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase a handgun, stockless shotgun, complete AR or AK receiver, or stripped lower receiver. You must also be a legal resident of the state in which you wish to transfer the firearm (The only exception to this would be active duty military personnel).

 

PLEASE BE AWARE: We do NOT ship guns to the following states: Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Colorado and Connecticut. Also, we cannot ship guns to the cities of Chicago and Washington DC.

Purchasing a firearm online can be broken down in to three easy to follow steps:

 

1. Arrange the transfer with an FFL Dealer.
   • Contact the dealer and let them know you would like them to receive a firearm for transfer from WGS.
   • Provide the FFL dealer with our contact information so they can send a copy of their FFL.

   • If WGS does not receive the customers chosen dealers FFL license within 7 days then we will cancel the customers order. 

 

1. Choose a firearm and complete your purchase by following the steps below.
   • Create an account or log in.
   • Add product(s) to cart.
   • Go to Checkout when finished shopping.
     • MUST follow directions in checkout.  All firearms must be shipped to a licensed FFL dealer.  Customers must follow the checkout directions to assure their FFL is entered in as the “Ship To” address.
2. Pick up your firearm and complete the transfer.
   • Williams needs 3 to 5 business days to process an order and for shipment.  All handguns will be shipped UPS  2 Day Express.  Long guns will be shipped standard UPS.  Please check with your FFL dealer after the allowed amount of process and shipping time.
   • In order for the transfer to be approved, your FFL Dealer is required to have you fill out a 4473 and pass a background check through NICS. This is the same form and background check you would complete if you purchased a firearm in any gun store. Once you pass the background check, you are free to take your firearm home!
   • If a customer is denied during the background process then the customer is responsible for a 15% restocking fee and a flat rate shipping charge of $50 for Williams to receive the firearm back.  No exceptions.
